These days physical art has to look as good, but not better or worse than its digital photograph, as that is now how we mostly view art. This may be why digital photography is so popular: it doesn't necessarily need to be developed, framed and exhibited, or placed in some type of physical context. After all, we just glance at it anyway. This may be why "Experientialism" may be the next big thing in art, and perhaps declared as a Movement per se. The actual art objects are a residue of that experience, but no less valuable.

"This is what Artforum meant a few years ago when it remarked that the “warm, low-contrast gray-brown tones of these paintings are an ideal foil for the cold colors and high contrast of both the iPhone IPS screen and its simulation via the fluorescent lights of the gallery.”
