Hearing is one of the first senses to develop in the womb, but vision eventually dominates cognition (so much so that we need photography to offload some of that information). Alas, we don't do the same for sound, as it is mostly static and unchanging (noise). Even cities can be sonically boring. Music is a way to make noise eventful. (7/18/2016)
