If something has too many uses, or if its original idea has been changed too much, it can become useless. If a screen was an idea in itself, screens have become somewhat useless, as the intended use (what one expects to see or do) is always changing. But that has always been the nature of a screen. The difference now is that we interact with something that is always changing, and might not be how you’ve understood it. If our screen world were signage, everyone would be perpetually lost. (6/2015)
