In some cultures it can be the reverse, where a universe of spiritual beliefs form the worldview. Technology should make anything possible but can have the reverse effect of becoming a dogma:

The animal Umwelt must be drastically different from ours in that there is a drastic absence of language. Any similarity must be related to the use of patterned sound.
