If you design a new game that anyone can play, many will come to play. If you have the idea that you're doing something for everyone in the global sense, and you think everyone's going to play, typically they don't because they think you're trying to control the situation. This is the usual pain point in bands, especially the Beatles, where Paul McCartney was always coming up with the ideas and concepts--like Maxwell's Silver Hammer, which all the other Beatles didn't like and they spent a lot of time on it. But if you design a new game that anyone can play, everybody will because there's no one controlling it, and no one's ego is involved.
