1049. When synths first started to be used as a primary instrument of a band, they were considered 'machines' and now we don't realize that over forty years later, we have almost completely made the transformation. The 'Singularity' has already happened in music. (1/2016)

The point wasn’t the ubiquity of synths. It was rather that we stopped referring to them as machines. Perhaps someday the term “AI” will be tacitly understood. Also it’s not “the frog in the boiling water”, although that is a factor because the gradual shifts are imperceptible, but then they start to “burn”. But that has nothing to do with synthesizers being machinic.

So far American lives haven’t been changed in what they are allowed to do, and may become like Russia post-2000 under Putin where there was the “Wiley Man”.

I actually think social media needs an overhaul, and could be done with competitive products. I thought that in 2017.

1641. Eighty years from now people won't be re-watching films from 2019 with warm feelings of nostalgia as one might watching films from the 1940s. (1/2019)
