Actually, it's a portrait inside a landscape. A good analogy would be a portrait-oriented video placed inside a landscape-oriented video. A portrait sits in a landscape–it crops it. Imagine doing a plein air painting of someone in a meadow, and later on, you realize that the painter also made a landscape painting in that same spot. An interesting idea would be to take video in portrait mode of various people, then take landscape video in different weather conditions, for example, and then composite them. (Has this been done?)
