Personally, I always wanted films to be factual or didactic, and I wasn't looking at films to simply entertain me. What I've always wanted from a film is excellence at every level. I'm not watching films just as something fun to do. I'm not the kind of moviegoer who can easily suspend disbelief. I think if you have beliefs, I don't see why you should want to suspend them. The analogy would be having to put on multiple layers of clothing to sit in the theater that had no heat, and it was below zero. Some people wouldn't mind sitting in the theater with a parka on, whereas I wouldn’t see the point. Suspension of disbelief is a temporary way of tuning out the heaviness of life as a form of escapism. It's interesting how we use various visuals like art or films. It's like going into another room to either do something or nothing. The creative person is doing the former because they want to explore actually making that film and not simply suspending consciousness in a haze of disbelief]
