People tend to "thin-slice", a term Malcom Gladwell used in his book Blink which refers to the human mind's ability to make rapid assessments and decisions based on a very limited amount—or "thin slice"—of information or experience. However, thin-slicing can be influenced by unconscious biases, stereotypes, and psychological priming, which may distort snap judgments.
