Prior to the internet, the art cons were actually interesting because the ideas didn't bleed into every corner of life, including politics, perhaps making fascism possible where it was previously inconceivable. It's also interesting from the standpoint of sincerity: Whereas pop art was sincere in its cunning, after the internet when people could mimic Warhol with digital art, it wasn't sincere because people didn't know what Warhol's philosophies were. It's important to consider philosophy to determine if what you're doing is sincere, and doing it for the sake of the art, or whether it's done for some other purpose.
