If you used something to make something, that doesn't make it a tool if you don't use it again in the same way. In that case, your process becomes the tool. If AI was in the loop at one point, you can't say it was a tool writ large. If I use a band saw to cut one piece, that doesn't mean I use a band saw all the time as one of the tools. If you use a guitar or piano to write songs, both are tools that you can use again and again in the same way. But an effect isn't really a tool even if you use it again and again in the same way. It's like that band saw that does one thing. It isn't that a band saw can be used like another tool, like a bass played like a guitar, or a guitar played like a saxophone.
