Artists eventually need some kind of system or framework. It can't all be one-offs. Sometimes it is in the beginning, but some kind of organization will be necessary. I've used seriality with accessional numbering. People say they don't want their creativity to be cold and rigid, as if working in a spreadsheet, but if you have 100 pieces, you'll eventually need a spreadsheet. The spreadsheet actually makes things easier.
