Years ago I took new "vows" of metamodernism, and avoided postmodernism, but ultimately became a perfect example of the excitement of breaking your own (new) rules. The moral: Forced intentions to be 'sincere' can become insincere because it's too hard to be austere if you haven't typically been before.
